Proficiency level of students: Intermediate
General objective of the lesson:
a) To familiarize students with language appropriateness
b) To introduce students with simple and complex sentence structure
c) To allow students to express themselves in educational manner
Learning Outcomes: At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
a) Provide appropriate lexical items to be applied in certain context/situation
b) Construct simple sentences to convey ideas that create meanings
c) Combine simple sentences to become complex sentences
d) Demonstrate on the lexical items and sentences learned
Values:
a) Allow students to be cooperative among each other.
b) Teach students to be a good listener.
c) Educate the students to spend their money wisely.
Previous knowledge:
The students are Standard 3 pupils,which they already had basic English Language knowledge that they acquired since kindergarten. Ideally, they have been exposed to the language well

Come to class and greet the students
Show a video clip to the students to attract their attention
Ask the students on what they are going to learn in the lesson based on the song that they just listen.
Ask further simple questions regarding to the topic.
Some question examples:
- What come across to their minds when they hear the word shopping.
- Name some shops they always go for shopping.
- Who do the students always go to shopping with.
- What do the students always buy at the shop.

Listen to the song and sing along.
Respond to the questions asked by the teacher.
Students participate and share their experiences.
Pay attention to the answers given by other students.

- Introduce them with vocabulary related to shopping
- Different types of shops
Instruct each student to surf the website using computers provided
Ask the students to play the game provided in the website related to the topic learned.
Evaluate their understanding of the lesson by looking at the marks acquired.

Activity 2 – Role Play

Show a video to help students understand more about the particular topic and assist them in the activity later.
Tell the students that they have to perform a role play.
Theme: Buying a present for a friend’s birthday.
Divide the students into pairs.
Ask them to sit with their partner and brainstorm on what they are going to present.
Ask each pair to perform in front of the class in 4 minutes
Evaluate the performance of the students by looking at the lexical items used and sentence construction.

Work together as a pair to come out with creative performance.
Listen to the performance of each pair and note some new words heard from the presentation
